The X8 is still a decent vacuum for floors that are not clean that can carry debris under its side brushes and into its 400ml dust bin with relative ease. The Tyres of the X8, despite their circular shape, are adept at grabbing corners and edges. It's not the best cat litter scooper, however as our tests show it only removes about 90% of the fur from hard floors.

There's a basic mopping option which uses the same water tank as the vacuuming one. This is ideal for spills that are not serious, but you can't limit the amount of water it consumes. It is effective at picking up hair from pets. It has a higher pick-up rate than the Roborock S7.

3. Miele RX2

Miele's RX2 robotic vacuum is known for its quiet, effective appliances. It features a stunning design, excellent navigation and an impressive cleaning power. However, it has some operational hiccups that keep it from ranking as the best overall smart robot vacuum.

Similar to the latest models of iRobot and models, the RX2 comes with dual-sensor mapping that uses an LIDAR sensor to map a room and two 3D scanning cameras that can detect and avoid obstacles (like furniture legs or pet waste) in real-time. Once the room is mapped, the app lets you create virtual no-go zones as well as areas that you want to clean. will clean automatically.
